 Your FOCUS on the World is a versatile resource that has been designed to complement the mobilization efforts of mission agencies. The manual addresses initiatives that are missionary- or project-centered, as well as those that are built around a people group, a location, a sister church, or a combination of purposes.

Churches can purchase the manual and pursue a self-led process through any or all of the FOCUSing steps. However, they are strongly encouraged to engage an outside facilitator for the entire process or at least to tap into the expertise of an experienced facilitator/coach where they need the wisdom of someone with missions experience. Churches are repeatedly advised to pursue their FOCUS hand-in-hand with a mission agency that shares their vision.

Your FOCUS on the World is a practical tool for church mobilizers because it will lay foundations so that agency personnel can concentrate on specific action strategies. Churches grasp the fundamentals by reviewing a particular chapter or section of the material on their own. Then the mobilizer focuses his/her face-to-face time in facilitating dialog about implementation. In other situations, the mobilizer can serve as a long-distance coach and personal guide to a church leader who uses the written materials to coordinate the process on the ground in the church. And rather than requiring mobilizers to develop their own training tools, the FOCUS materials come ready to be used but are also easily customized.

Your FOCUS on the World also can provide a common starting point for multiple partners—Western churches, field missionaries, national partners, NGOs, businesses, etc. Everyone can begin with common understanding and vocabulary.
